the long awaited meeting

Last night I finally met my celebrity crush, Shaun Verreault, the guitarist/lead vocalist of Wide Mouth Mason. Or more precisely, Caitlin pulled me up to him and introduced me. I have had numerous opportunities to talk to the guy, but have always chickened out despite having seen then a number of times. Caitlin had finally had enough and called out in a sweet voice, "Mr. Verreault, oh Mr. Verreault, I would like to introduce you to my fiance." I feel like I babbled on incoherently, but I managed to tell him how much we loved the band and how inspiring his guitar playing had been to me (I have always said that if I could play like any guitarist I would choose Shaun Verreault above all others). I also told him the role WMM's music had played in my relationship with Caitlin and that one of his songs was going on a CD that we are going to make for the wedding. He as SO NICE and SO HUMBLE. I think he thanked us 20 times and said how honoured he was that we were going to use a song of theirs and that his band had been a large part of the soundtrack of our relationship so far. There were so many other things that I would have loved to speak with him about because he was just such a nice and talkative guy, but I guess I will have to wait until next time. I wouldn't stop talking about our chat to Caitlin the whole way home, but she was enthusiastic and happy for me. Few people can turn me into the equivalent of a giggling school girl, but Verreault did and I thank him for it! :)
