Jacob Moon concert

I attended my second Jacob Moon concert at Lambrick Park Church last night and, just like the first, his guitar playing and singing were brilliant. His voice was strong and beautiful while his guitar playing was as stunningly virtuosic as I remembered. He played many of the same songs and also 9/10 of his new album Eventide including a breathtaking reading of Peter Gabriel's "Come Talk To Me" and an intimate rendering of Emmylou Harris' "The Pearl" featuring the drums and guitar of our very own Johnny ("the Five") Andrews and Matthew Christopher Davidson. All in all it was a fabulous night with a captivating and humble musician, eager to meet and talk to fans, as well as willing to really give the crowd their money's worth with a fantastic show. Kudos also must be given to Davidson, who opened the night, for showing such growth in his songwriting and performance skills. Also, the guy is known for playing the keys, but he is a frightfully good fingerstyle guitarist (yes, I am jealous because I am a frightfully bad fingerstyle guitarist). And 5's drums fills were some of the best I have ever heard him play, very intricate and jazzy. Thanks to all 3 musicians for a great night!
