the ride in to work this morning OR how Bob Dylan can totally suck.

I listened to perhaps one of the worst live albums ever on my ride into work this morning, Bob Dylan: Live at Budokan (1979). It's no secret that I am a big Dylan fan (going to the upcoming show here in Victoria in October), but this album is completely atrocious. The Allmusic review linked above was kind regarding the quality of this work. Classic songs are recast with slick, cheesy, ridiculously unsuitable arrangements that strip them of any of their old glory or power. I understand wanting to change things up a bit, Sir Bob, but this album is a hunk of crap. Dynasty recommendation: don't even bother if you were thinking about it.
