I am sorry Canucks fans but....

I don't normally talk hockey on this blog because I have my Leafs blog for that, but I just had to say that this article where former GM Dave Nonis talks about how close the Canucks are to making a bid to win the Stanley Cup made me laugh outright. To be brutally honest with you (as someone who likes the Canucks and wants them to succeed, despite my first love), they are not that much closer than the Leafs are. They had less goals than the lowly Leafs as well as only 3 more wins. Nonis must be smoking the crack pipe pretty hard to think that the Canucks are or ever were a Cup contender under his reign, the reason being that last time I checked one of the most important parts of hockey was putting pucks in nets...

hmm I guess I have to agree with you bing man. You hit the nail on the head what a joke Nonis is . And I am glad he is gone.
Now that he is out of the way I hope to see some big changes this summer for the nucks. Starting with the draft in June.
Frank.

dude...all i've got to say is that i feel the canuck' season this year was some sort of divine preparation for my move to leaf-land this summer.

as a fan of the "hometeam" i wasn't looking forward to making the switch from the canucks to the blue and white.

looking at it now i can see how the transition will be much much easier than i anticipated at the start of this season.

go hometeam go!

I guess this is as close as a Leafs fan will ever get to gloating in your lifetime, buddy. Enjoy the ride while it lasts ...

As far as the Nucks being close to making a bid for the cup, I'll grant you that we have a few more moves to make. But to say that they are "not that much closer than the Leafs are" ... well, I'll just say that Nonis isn't the only one smoking the crack pipe. It's going to take some kind of hallucination to keep that trippy dream alive.
