Once again our nation has something hockey-related of which to be proud. We are the best in the world at our national sport. We out-hustled and outplayed the Russians to win the World Junior Final by a score of 5-0. "Oh Canada, our home and native land..."

I have to note that on that same night (Thursday, Jan 5), there were some other hockey miracles as well.
Along with Team Canada winning the World Juniors, the Victoria Salmon Kings beat the Fresno Falcons at home, the Boston BRuins took out the league-best Ottawa Senators 4-2, and the Colorado Avalanche (or as I call them, the relocated-Nordiques!) beat the Minnesota Wild.
That's four Fav. teams for this fan, and it prooved to be the greatest hockey day in my lifetime.
