Recently, I was speaking with a former professor of mine in his office and we got onto the subject of children playing video games, watching TV, and surfing the web. I told him how I have observed the rapid deterioration of children's literacy, social skills, and thinking skills as a result of the above mentioned technological "advances". He agreed and said it has everything to do with how children these days are spending their time. He then voiced something very interesting that I have been pondering ever since:
"You will never be able to erase all inequality in the world, but one thing that we are all given in equal measure is time."
How we spend our time has a significant impact on our success in this world and the kind of people we become, be it spiritually or practically. I realize that I often spend my time poorly and must work to improve this on an ongoing basis. We would do well to remember that our time is precious and so we should do our best to parcel it accordingly. I pray that God will continually remind where my time is most needed, be it in solitude, prayer, in my relationships or in serving others.

I'm sure this is a nice thought and all, but it's not deep, it's just incorrect. Of course we aren't all given an equal gift of time, because...we don't all live for exactly the same amount of time?
Or did someone start synchronizing our death dates and I just missed it?
