music update

I have been listening to Patty Griffin this morning and I am really impressed with her voice and songwriting. I am sure that I heard quite alot of her music unknowingly when I lived at home because my stepfather Alan really likes her. She has got an amazing set of pipes and her band is pretty hot as well. I will post CD reviews pretty soon once I have some repeated listens under my belt. A reminder to those of you who live in Victoria that one of my fave indie singer/songwriter/virtuouso guitarists Jacob Moon is playing a show this Friday, November 19 at Lambrick Park Church. Tickets are $12 ($15 at the door) and it is a deal because the guy is FANTASTIC! Also, U2's new DVD Verigo 2005: Live in Chicago is out this Tuesday the 15th as is Wilco's new live album Kicking Television: Live in Chicago. Hmm, 2 great bands releasing shows from Chicago.
