Normally I keep all hockey-related talk confined to my Leafs blog, but the announcement that Trevor Linden is retiring is worth reporting here as he was always one of my favourite athletes because of his poise, classiness, and humility. Number 16, the Bing Dynasty salutes you!
And to the Canucks organization: you better retire Linden's number PDQ!

A tear came to my eye his last game of the regular season at home in front of a standing crowed at GM place. I can't wait to see a hockey game there next year and look up at his jersy. The spirt of 94 still lives on and even though he didn't win a cup it wasn't for lack of trying. 2 goals in game 7 at MSG that I will never forget.
