New with the Bing Man

My final semester began on May 8 and I now I have my eyes on the prize: August 10, when I will officially be done graduate school and will have my Masters. Say some prayers for me because it's going to be a busy semester--I have a lot on the go and time management will be of the essence!

I am in love with Wilco's new album, Sky Blue Sky, as is Caitlin, and we have been listening to it non-stop. I will say that it's the album of the summer for me. If you are interested, buy the special edition for an extra $4 because the bonus DVD is AWESOME--highly recommended.

I am almost finished Reluctant Genius, the Alexander Graham Bell biography that my in-laws gave to me for my birthday and it has been very good. I love biographies that are both informative and written well enough that it almost reads like a story. Charlotte Gray is one of Canada's most treasured biographers and I think she has outdone herself on this book. Simply excellent...

I hate myself for it, but I am cheering for the Ottawa Senators in the Stanley Cup playoffs, which is pretty much heresy for a Leafs fan as diehard as myself, but I want the Cup to come home to Canada--it's been 14 years since the Montreal Canadiens hoisted Lord Stanley's Grail, and the time has come for us to reclaim what's rightfully ours--hockey's our game, dammit, and we need to bring that trophy back to the True North, Strong and Free!

I hope my loyal readers are all well. Start leaving some comments, will ya?

I also love Wilco's new album. As Tweedy said in an interview, sometimes you just have to write songs that are fun to listen to. Much easier listening than previous albums and yet that doesn't detract from the genius of it.

I'm with ya buddy ... it's time for all of us true Canadians to take one on the chin and cry, "go Sens". Besides, other what choice do we have? We have Pronger and the "mighty shmucks". Or Bert, who deserves a cup ring like I deserve a letter of thanks from James Dobson for all my support over the years.

I am not a loyal reader yet, I'm a newbie, and unfortunately I don't have much to say about hockey..I know it's played on ice, which is cold...
