back in the (blogging) saddle again!

Hey y'all,

I have weathered the worst of this semester's storms and have emerged in one piece on the other side. Plus, we also got our wireless back again (lost if for about a week) and thus we have recipe for increased blogging from the Bing Man. I have little of interest to report or comment on because I have been completely focused on school, essentially ignoring everything else (including my wife sometimes of necessity) until I made it to today. There is a slight lull until the next flurry of assignments which will finish up the semester, but you can look forward to hearing more out of me from now on!

My in-laws are arriving from Victoria on Friday and it is going to be nice to have some family out to visit. Caitlin is pretty stoked and I must say I am quite looking forward to it as well!

Lately in the CD player has been the new release from the Neil Young Archives, "Live at Massey Hall, 1971", which is excellent. I have also been listening to Jeff Tweedy's "Sunken Treasure" and I have an advance copy of the new Wilco disc "Sky Blue Sky", which does not come out until May! I will still buy the actual disc when it arrives because they are one of my favourite bands and deserve my support. The new Patty Griffin is brilliant and I have really been eating up "Coke Machine Glow" by Gordon Downie (lead singer of the Tragically Hip, for those who don't know).

On the extremely rare occasions that I get to read, I have been making my way through Christian Scharen's "One Step Closer: Why U2 Matters to Those Seeking God", which is an excellent, excellent book. I will review it when I am done. Next I plan to tackle a new biography of Alexander Graham Bell that my in-laws gave me as a birthday gift (by Charlotte Gray, one of Canada's premier biographers), as well as a book by Chuck Klosterman that my friend Mathieu has recently lent me. I can't wait until April 13th when my semester is done and I actually have some time to read! I hope everyone is well! Cheers...
