It is so cold here that I am dreaming of the damp, yet mild, climates of Victoria. My mustache and beard were beautifully frozen as I drearily trudged across the Western campus this morning with my lunch kit in one hand and a mug of steaming tea in the other, dreaming of another period in my life when my thighs weren't chapped nor my skin cracking. I am also a bit tired of getting the nastiest shocks just from walking around my apartment, as is Caitlin. She has these slippers that gather the static electricity, store it for awhile, and then deliver these shocks that just about knock her off her feet. She's getting pretty angry about the whole business these days and has taken to kicking off her slippers angrily when she's not walking around tapping walls, furniture, and me to ground the charge. You always know she's coming: tap, tap, tap...
Looking forward to spring...

that's funny.
I'm trying to think of a bad thing about our Victoria weather and I just can't come up with one darn thing.
damp, mossy, wet, cloudy- I don't know- they're all good to me...
(especially the GREEN) lovely on the eyes
Oh dear,
I know exactly what you're talking about. I seem to attract so much static electricity these days just by virtue of me living my daily life that I'm almost constantly rubbing my fingers from the pain! Maybe that's compounding the problem, I don't know. But I do know it's gotten outta hand. I even shocked poor David when I kissed him the other day! It may sound cool, but electric kisses don't feel so hot. Ouch!
Not loving dry Winters.
