REVIEW: Shaun Verreault and Wil live @ Legends
As usual, Verreault was brilliant. I sat 2 feet away from him as he tore through a too-brief set of new songs and WMM songs, complete with his soulful wail and trademark virtuosic guitar stylings. Watching my favourite guitarist that close is such a treat and I am glad that I am able to see him in such a small venue. Wil was better than I expected with a gravelly voice and many broken guitar strings from his thrash-folk style of playing. The two of them jammed for 20 minutes at the end of their sets, the best part being their impromptu cover of Hendrix's "Little Wing" that featured a stunning, slow, bluesy solo by SV (beautiful use of the wah pedal!). A great show, though I would have loved SV to play longer and wish that he had played "Rust", one of my favourite WMM ballads. I picked up his live-in-the-studio limited edition CD "The Daggermouth Sketches" (only 200 copies pressed and no more going to be) and will be posting a review of it here soon. Stay tuned...

Oh, I salivate at the thought of being there with you B-man. But lo, I was running around with a bunch of 11 year-olds; we each have our passions.
Glad to hear the concert went well and that you had another chance to creap out Verreault with your dreamy blue eyes so close.
